Jim McLaughlin is an Ohio based architect who retired so he can work full-time with the Honor Flight network. As Vice-President, he travels frequently to pick up the “lone eagles”, those vets whose health is so poor that an immediate trip is the only solution. He also heads up his own flights from Ohio and organizes ground crews to help with the veterans as they get off and on the buses. He’s seen here with volunteers who had just returned from Iraq and who had taken a Saturday to work with the Veterans.
Honor Flight is featured in Jewel of the Mall: World War II Memorial book.
