Senator Elizabeth Dole greets Honor Air Knoxville at WWII Memorial

WWII Memorial

Nice to have two Senators in one family!   Senator Elizabeth Dole greeted veterans of Honor Air Knoxville in the absence of Senator Robert Dole who was in Kansas today.  She is pictured here with Ed Mannis and his father. There were approximately 110 veterans and seventy guardians at the WWII Memorial. The weather was brisk but beautiful–a chance to get over and have a quick glance at the Cherry Blossom Festival which was underway. Despite the crowds, you can still make a few frames of the Blossoms without people although each year it gets increasingly more difficult. The pictures from today’s flight are available at the Honor Flight photo website and can be downloaded by veterans and their families for personal use.  This coming Saturday will bring old friends Bill and Bobbi Richards (Columbus), Rick Sage (Michigan) and T D Smith of Louisana.
Honor Flight is featured in Jewel of the Mall: World War II Memorial book.
