Rain, Rain….go away…
Despite a heavy rain, Michigan, Ohio and Louisiana made their way to the WWII Memorial today. When I arrived Rick Sage, his wife and Bill and Bobbi Richards were at the WWII Memorial today and were soon joined by Senators Robert and Elizabeth Dole. While the weather was clearing, the Senators climbed aboard the buses to greet the veterans and in the nice dry confines of the bus had a fun visit with the vets.
Susan Barr was escorting the groups and both groups were prepared for the weather and were able to hold brief ceremonies at their state columns. Ohio was joined by a tour of Masons from Ohio and it turned out everyone was both a mason and a veteran so there was quite a bit of chit chat down at the Ohio. Matt Mabe is escorting Senator Dole and it’s comforting to have someone from Honor Flight making sure that all goes well. Dan Arant and Donna Prince have joined Honor Flight as volunteers so the photo contingent will be bigger and better. The photos can be downloaded at the photo site.
