Dave Cameron, Michigan Honor Flight Passes

Dave Cameron, Honor Flight Michigan Founder
From Jeff Miller on June 8th, 2008:  “It is with a heavy heart and a somber tone that I must pass along the news that our Honor Flight Michigan founder and great friend, Dave Cameron, has died.  Dave passed away this morning (Sun. 6/8) at 8:30 AM. There will be a viewing at Wm. Sullivan & Sons in RO on Tuesday 6/10 from 1-9 PM and a funeral on Wed. at St. Mary’s in RO with burial at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Southfield.  Arrangements are being made for a luncheon at Jimi’s in RO.  Any questions or more info, please contact Dave’s son, Mike, at 248-417-3300.”

I (Stephen Brown) do know that the last time I talked to him, he was enthusiastically talking about Honor Flight and we were planning to meet at the Memorial. I know from Jeff and Earl that he was a greatly revered for his enthusiasm, perseverance and ability to get a flight going despite economic pressures.  He was a wonderful person and “did good.”  Senator Dole called the Cameron family this morning to express his sympathies.
