The Ground Crew… Welcome to DC!!

Diane Sinclair (right) is getting some long overdue help at the WWII Memorial. Today we want to welcome two more folks to the Honor Flight Ground Crew.  They interface with our very own Ms. Manners, Judi Lemmons and time your arrival, set up chairs and make sure your veterans are comfortable.  Photos today are at this site.  They also go out the airports and make sure events work out properly. They are indispensable and indefatigable.

Erin Riley (center) drives three hours each way from Delaware. Her son is stationed in Iraq and she was telling me yesterday that service was helpful and necessary.  She found out about Honor Flight through a television piece and now we’ve got her!  Al Cook lives in Centerville and “likes a bit of walk”.  He found out about Honor Flight through his wife who works for the VA and the last time he was in town, he apparently didn’t bother with a car on the way home and walked from Vienna to Centerville..a mere four hours.  His son was an army helicopter pilot in Afghanistan and recently got out of the VA hospital.

Honor Flight is featured in Jewel of the Mall: World War II Memorial book.
