Senator Robert Dole is in addition to his long standing service to our country during the War and the Congress and Senate the “unofficial greeter” at the WWII Memorial. Every Saturday, he drives down to the Memorial to greet vets and shake hands and take pictures. He spends up to six hours there and it’s a example of dedication and service which few politicians even dream of. His role in the fundraising and development of the Memorial is legendary. He has spent countless hours speaking to veterans groups and his long standing commitment to his military peers is unprecedented. He is an American hero and deserves our thanks.
