On my regular “rounds” of the Monuments, I stopped by to see the Martin Luther King Memorial. Last year, I had the pleasure of contacting the King Foundation for the permission to use a picture for the DC PHOTO BOOK and so it is the only general DC book sold in the MLK bookstore. You can also get it online at Amazon. The National Park Service finished the work quickly and efficiently. The scaffolding and covering are quite attractive and give the workers some privacy and shade and visitors can still see the Memorial.
Publishing the DC PHOTO BOOK requires cosntant surveillance. Change is afoot and managing the books so they remain both current as the Mall develops. Those construction cranes will certainly add to the debate about DC building height restrictions.
